The Educational Elementary I and Elementary II in our Montessori School: Cosmic and Respectful Education
In both Elementary I and Elementary II of our Montessori education, we are committed to respectful parenting and deep respect for the students' learning process. Our philosophy is based on creating an environment where girls and boys are respected as unique individuals, encouraging autonomy and informed decision-making from an early age.
In both stages, we cultivate an environment that values the diversity of ways of learning, recognizing that each student has their own pace and style of knowledge absorption. Respectful parenting involves understanding individual needs, promoting empathy and open communication between educators, students and parents.
Respect for learning implies recognizing that the educational process goes beyond the acquisition of knowledge; It involves the comprehensive development of social, emotional and cognitive skills. We foster students' innate curiosity, encouraging them to explore, discover and build their understanding of the world. In our Montessori School, both in Elementary I (6 to 9 years) and in Elementary II (9 to 12 years), we follow a cosmic educational philosophy that seeks a global and respectful understanding of the world. Through integrated subjects, we promote the comprehensive development of students, cultivating autonomy, curiosity and responsibility from an early age.
In each of these areas, it seeks to integrate the disciplines in a harmonious way, connecting learning with the cosmic environment. Autonomy, curiosity and love of learning are promoted, building a solid foundation for academic and personal growth.
In both stages, it focuses on the development of reading, writing and speaking skills.
Boys and girls explore grammar in a practical and contextualized way, promoting clear and effective communication
It is presented in a concrete and manipulative manner, allowing girls and boys to explore numerical concepts, operations and geometry.
Deep understanding is promoted through tangible and intuitive experiences.
Throughout both stages, it is taught through activities that allow students to explore shapes, patterns and spatial relationships.
Geometry is naturally integrated into the cosmic environment, relating it to aspects of the universe and nature.
In Elementary I, cosmic history and geography are introduced from the local community to larger regions.
In Elementary II, complex historical periods and relevant events are delved into, along with a more global exploration of geography.
It includes the comprehensive study of biology, from the cell to the diversity of life forms on Earth.
In Elementary II, independent research and the application of biological concepts in practical projects are encouraged.
In both stages, they focus on encouraging creativity and personal expression.
Through music, children explore rhythms and melodies, while in art, visual and creative expression is encouraged.
Oriented towards motor development, coordination and cooperative play.
Body awareness, health and teamwork are promoted, evolving towards more specialized sports activities in Elementary II.
Montessori Education approaches these subjects from a cosmic perspective, highlighting the interdependence and connection between disciplines.
We encourage not only the acquisition of knowledge, but also the cultivation of a sense of wonder, respect, and responsibility for the world around us.
The central objective is to prepare students for secondary education, delving into academic disciplines such as mathematics, language, science and history.
Focuses on research projects, presentation skills, group work, autonomy development, and global awareness.
Additionally, it stimulates physical development, promotes well-being, and encourages advanced creative and artistic expression.
